FOOD FOR HARMATTAN

It's during this Period that people's skin tends to be white, and Ladies have Expressions that correlate with the season with loud volume.

The harmattan season is definitely a yearly occurrence characterised with cold, dry and dusty air or wind during the day and night. The harmattan season usually occurs between the end of November and middle of March. It is that moment of the year when all you want to do is snuggle deep into your cozy blankets and keep warm. A lot of people suffer from dry, and itchy skin filled with dust. And it can make any one feel lots of discomfort.

You'll need a totally different type of diet in order to achieve a healthy lifestyle during this season.
When it comes to your appearance, there’s always a quick solution like packing vaseline and rubbing it on your body but you may want to nourish yourself inside out. The perfect time to nourish our skin, adjust our diet with foods that will keep our dry skin in good condition during this harsh weather. In this article, I'll be sharing about some of the best foods you should eat regularly during this season in order to stay healthy and look fresh.

here are a few foods to eat during this weather below:

Boiled eggs

During this season, its normal for you to suffer from dry skin but you can actually prevent it by eating lots and lots of eggs. Eggs are very rich in protein and has nutrient known as lutein which helps to regenerate the skin and also keep it hydrated and graceful. Eating enough boiled eggs can also improve the freshness and gracefulness of your skin. Not only that, you can try a facial mask with egg white,You won't have to look pale white all day long.

 Salmon

Salmon, Titus and other oily fish taste better and can be used for various dishes when it comes to cooking. These oily fishes are good for our skin, they contain Omega-3 fatty acids which helps in nourishing our skin and lock in the moisture while also ironing out the wrinkles. Seafood such as mackerel and tuna are also very good for your skin.

Avocado

Most face creams that we use contain vitamin E and it’s a vital ingredient, so I have the honour of telling you that you can get as much of the nutrient as you delight from avocado. Vitamin E has the natural moisturizing properties that boosts your skin protection against harmful UV rays that can toughen out your skin. Also, leafy green vegetables and nuts will boost the level of Vitamin E in your system.

Spinach

Spinach which the Yoruba popularly call “amunututu” is a nutrient-filled vegetable that we should add to our meal, and it’s not just good for adding flavour to our meal but also contains a high level of Vitamin B and A which helps to hydrate your skin and give it protection against harsh weather conditions. If you can get kale leave it’s also good. But the taste is bitter though.

 Coconut oil

Coconut oil has a lot of functions, works for the hair and skin too. So if you suffer from dry skin, you might want to buy some for yourself. Coconut oil highly contains anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties, whether applied directly on the body or used in cooking meals. When cooking, consider using coconut oil instead of the regular cooking oil.

Fruits

During this season, your body is more liable to catch a fever, catarrh or cold. Its very common to see people getting sick more often. Fruits such as bananas, oranges, grapes, apples and watermelon are good sources of magnesium, folate, potassium and other amazing nutrients that helps in regulating the body's temperature and prevent certain illness during this season.
