A house-help named David Friday slaughtered his principal, retired Chief Magistrate; Mrs. Olufunmilayo Timehin aged 65 in Laderin Housing Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State to death.
David who hails from Benue State was employed to assist Timehin in domestic works in the house sometimes in January.
Family members who spoke with THISDAY at the scene of the incident said David who is about 25 years was employed to assist her sister in domestic works in the house.
She said “David was caught last week after he stole my sister’s (late Timehin) telephones, jewelleries, and other valuables in the house. He was arrested at Oke Ilewo area when he was about to sell the stolen items.”
The family member who pleaded anonymity further explained that “he was arrested and immediately taken to the police station. When my late sister got the information of his arrest by the police, she ordered for his immediate release.”
“David was disengaged immediately on the account of stealing after his about two months of service. What surprised us most was that he returned to the house through the fence and disconnected the security alarm.
“David succeeded in taking the life of my sister by butchering her to death with cutlass and knife. When the security men and vigilante group heard noise in the house, they quickly came in but my sister was already dead.”
“He was arrested by the estate vigilante group after he jumped the fence to escape. He has been immediately handover to the police command headquarters.”
