A Kenyan Pedal Power Solution for Charging Mobile Phones

 In rural Kenya, electricity sockets are hard to find but pedal power is everywhere-which is why inventor Pascal Katana has come up with an ingenious method to charge mobile phones using the energy generated by bicycles. Students of the university of Nairobi came up with a solution. The easy-to-use smart charger has ecently been brought to the market. It costs about 350 Kenyan shillings, which is about USD$4, which is a better value than recharging at small shops with solar panels, which charge a fee of about USD$1.

The Police in Lagos have forced Olanrenju Gbedeogun, an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to make a statement that exonerates the police from the attack that led to the death of two officers of the corps as well as led to the escape of some oil pipeline vandals... .It was learnt that in a frantic bid to cover their tracks and back-up their claim to the presidency that it was officers of NSCDC which attacked the police, and that the police knew nothing about the death of the two NSCDC men, the police in Lagos has subjected Gbedeogun to severe torture reportedly supervised by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police where a videotaped confession is said to have been obtained.

Is Bobo Omotayo set to announce a new political party in Nigeria?


 
On the heels of the merger of Nigeria's opposition groups, Author, Bobo Omotayo, is rumoured to have submitted a letter of intent to register a political party, the Alliance Longevity Democratic Party (ALDP) to INEC. Though as yet unconfirmed, our man in Abuja nevertheless sighted this quirky young author leaving the INEC office with his lawyers and party gbeborons last evening.

INEC, who are not currently registering new parties, declined to comment on the chances of ALDP, and neither Omotayo nor his gbeborons would explain their secret feint. Continue...
